In addition to the Festival Finale program, which involves participants in the repertory and performance workshops, the Festival offers another opportunity for dance companies, school-based performing groups, independent choreographers and performance artists to showcase their work in performance. The program has an application process. All dance styles and disciplines are welcome. A brief description and projected performance dates are listed below. FLORIDA DANCES
(Thur., June 17 & Tues. June 22) Florida Dances showcases a collection of the past season's exceptional and memorable works performed throughout the state (and beyond) by Florida Dance Association member dance companies, school dance programs and independent performing groups. Applicants must be current FDA members. Works submitted for consideration may be any dance style or discipline and must be no longer than 12-minutes in length. Works are selected through a panel adjudication process.  You must be available to perform on either date.

  APPLICATION DEADLINE
Application forms and videos (1/2" VHS or DVD) must be postmarked no later than Friday, March 26, 2010.

, applications and videos postmarked after this date will not be accepted. Notification will be sent to all applicants by Friday, April 16, 2010.

Adjudication and Selection Process
An adjudication panel of dance teachers, choreographers and other dance professionals from across Florida will be assembled to convene April 10, 2010 to review and score each work submitted. Adjudicators receive videos in advance and must view each work they are assigned in its entirety before the panel meeting. At the panel meeting a one-minute section of each work will be seen and scored, with the assigned adjudicator providing additional information if needed. Works achieving an average score above a determined cut-off point are selected for performance.
